Aqualis Traction is a waterborne protective coating for first-generation Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) substrates and timber, designed to add slip resistance. It imparts a natural look mixed with fine Polyester Grit for P4 slip resistance rating (AS/NZS 4586-2013). Easy to use, it can also act as a sealer. If you require P5 rating on wet surfaces the formula can be modified, please contact our sales staff for more information.
FOR BEST RESULTS
– Apply 3 coats by brush or roller, using 10 to 12 Napp Mohair or Microfibre.
– Flat horizontal surfaces require a standard P4 rating, while ramps and stairs need a full P5 rating.
NEW WOOD PLASTIC COMPOSITE
– Prepare surfaces with Composite Clean treatment solution.
– Scrub with a stiff broom or mechanical scrubber, then rinse and dry.
WEATHERED WOOD PLASTIC COMPOSITE
– Treat as new, with possible second application for stubborn stains.
– Use Composite Clean for general soiling or stains, rinsing thoroughly.
SEALING – WOOD PLASTIC COMPOSITE
– After cleaning, apply Traction with a roller or brush in 3 coats.
– Allow drying between coats for optimum slip results.
WEATHERED WOOD PLASTIC COMPOSITE OR PREVIOUSLY TREATED
– Strip back to raw composite and clean with Composite Clean.
– Apply Duracolour thinly, allowing to dry before applying 3 coats of Traction.
AGES WOOD PLASTIC COMPOSITE OVER 3 YEARS
– Seal for UV protection or restore color with Duracolour before applying Traction.
MAINTENANCE
– Condition every three months with Composite Clean to extend durability.
– Re-coat every 12-18 months, especially in heavy foot traffic areas.
The performance and durability of Traction depend on the condition of the substrate, so regular cleaning and re-coating are recommended.
