427 Diamocolour is a high-quality, formaldehyde-free nitrocellulose single-pack pigmented lacquer designed for interior furniture, cabinetry, and shop fitouts. Available in a full color range in satin (30%), semi-gloss (50%), and gloss (100%), or can be individually matched as required. Diamocolour offers excellent durability and short recoat times, making it ideal for quick air-drying applications.

Coverage:
- Theoretical: 15-20 square meters per liter
- Practical: 6-8 square meters per liter (spray application)
Uses: Diamocolour is free from formaldehyde, isocyanates, and heavy metals. When used over 427P Diamoprime, the system is suitable for coating children’s toys and furniture. It is used as a quick air-drying lacquer over suitably prepared and primed timber substrates for interior furniture, cabinetry, and shop fitouts (not for wet areas). Exhibits short recoat times and tough, flexible films.
Application Instructions:
System 1:
- Prime with a suitable polyurethane or polyester basecoat and allow to cure as per manufacturer’s specification (60-80 micron dft).
- Sand with 320 grit paper and topcoat with 427 Diamocolour (40-60 micron dft).
- Allow the second coat to cure for at least 2 hours. Lightly sand with 320 grit paper and recoat as outlined in step 2.
- Note: Heavier coats will require longer recoat times. Force curing of Diamocolour at 40˚C will allow a recoat time of approximately 30 minutes.
System 2:
- Coat with 427P Diamoprime White Primer and allow for 2 hours cure.
- Coat with 427 Diamocolour to 40-60 micron dft.
- Allow the second coat to cure for at least 2 hours. Lightly sand with 400 grit and recoat with 427 Diamocolour if required.
- Note: Heavier coats will require longer recoat times. Force curing at 40˚C will allow recoat times of 30 minutes.
Precautions:
- Take care not to apply excessively high film builds to prevent defects.
- Coated articles should be protected from direct sunlight for extended durability.
- Not suitable for wet areas.
- Force curing at 40˚C may be required for shorter recoat times.
