Description

The Ilva Solvent Based 2K Polyurethane Flooring System is a professional-grade coating system designed to provide outstanding protection and appearance for interior timber floors. Combining a high-build self-sealing basecoat with a durable polyurethane topcoat, the system delivers excellent clarity, strong abrasion resistance and long-term durability for both residential and commercial applications. Fast drying and easy sanding characteristics help improve productivity while allowing the natural beauty of the timber to remain the focal point. Available in a range of sheen levels from matt through to full gloss, the system can be tailored to suit a variety of design requirements.

Application Instructions

Coverage Rate: Approximately 10–12.5m² per litre per coat, depending on timber species, substrate porosity, sanding profile and application technique.

Substrate Preparation: Ensure timber flooring is clean, dry and free from waxes, oils, grease, dust and any contaminants. Sand timber to a smooth, uniform surface and remove all sanding dust prior to coating.

Product Preparation: Mix each component strictly in accordance with the relevant Technical Data Sheet. Stir thoroughly before use and only prepare enough material that can be applied within the specified pot life.

Application: Apply the self-sealing basecoat evenly by roller or suitable spray equipment. Allow to dry and sand as required before removing all dust. Apply one or more coats of the polyurethane topcoat to achieve the desired appearance and protection level.

Drying & Recoating: Drying times will vary depending on temperature, humidity and ventilation. Ensure adequate drying and sanding between coats where required. Avoid excessive traffic until the coating system has fully cured.
