Description
ILVA PW710 White Base is a professional mono/bi-component water-based converter and tintable white base for industrial timber finishing applications. It can be used as either a 1K (mono-component) coating or as a 2K (bi-component) system with the addition of ILVA TXW13 hardener.
The white base is designed for tinting to create a wide range of solid and pigmented colours, providing a versatile base for professional timber finishing systems where an opaque finish is required.
PW710 White Base is available in two sheen levels:
- PW710 – Satin
- PW710/10 – Matt
Mono-Component / 1K Use
PW710 White Base can be applied as a 1K mono-component coating, without the addition of hardener.
- Ready to use after thorough mixing.
- Can be thinned with water if required, up to a maximum of 5%.
- Suitable for professional spray application.
- Recommended application rate: 120–150 g/m².
Bi-Component / 2K Use
For increased performance, PW710 White Base can be converted to a 2K bi-component system using ILVA TXW13 hardener.
- Add 10% TXW13 by weight.
- Approximately 9.6% by volume.
- Pot life after mixing: approximately 2 hours.
- Ready-to-use solids: approximately 39.3%.
The addition of hardener provides increased performance where a 2K coating system is required.
Application
PW710 White Base is designed for professional spray application, including Airmix systems and automatic finishing plants.
- Recommended application: 120–150 g/m².
- Water may be added if required, up to a maximum of 5%.
- Always mix thoroughly before application.
- When used as a 2K system, thoroughly mix again after adding TXW13 hardener.
Drying
Under recommended room conditions of 18–22°C and 65–70% relative humidity:
- Stackable: approximately 24 hours.
- Complete drying: approximately 96 hours.
Accelerated hot-air drying can substantially reduce drying times.
Application Conditions
For best results, apply at an ambient temperature of 18–22°C, with relative humidity between 65–70% and timber moisture content between 8–14%.
Application should not take place below 15°C or above 30°C. Drying temperatures should remain above 15°C.
Storage
PW710 White Base has a shelf life of 12 months from production when stored correctly.
As a water-based coating, protect the product from excessive heat and cold. Store indoors between 5°C and 35°C, in a properly ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
Professional Use
PW710 White Base is a professional timber coating system. Final performance will depend on substrate preparation, application equipment, environmental conditions, coating thickness and the complete coating cycle used.
Always test the complete coating system on the intended substrate before commencing production and refer to the current ILVA Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet before use.
